A
- account invitealso: account invites, account invite code, ODM-
- A code of the form ODM-XXXXXXXXXX minted by an administrator, with a note, a use limit and an expiry, that lets someone register on an invite-only server.
- admin panelalso: /admin
- The administrator's pages at /admin: Server settings (server, accounts, text, agent, utility, images, speech, sound library, voice, Discord, backup), Campaign plugins, Users, Usage and Reports, plus the guided setup. On a device world the app hides what it manages.
- agent programalso: agent programs, the server's agent
- Claude Code, Codex, opencode or Grok Build acting as the storyteller on its own sign-in, started with none of its own tools and held to the same rules as the built-in Dungeon Master. Desktop and self-hosted servers only, not Docker or Android.
- ambiencealso: ambience and music, cues
- A catalogue of 78 sound cues in three layers (a room bed, music and stings), driven by the Dungeon Master, chosen in the Sound panel, or inferred from the scene. The open-licensed sound library ships with the server; the apps download it on demand.
- announced addressalso: announced IP, VOICE_ANNOUNCED_IP, voice domain, VOICE_DOMAIN
- What the media server tells clients to connect to for audio. Required behind NAT or Docker, or every call connects to silence. A voice domain must be a plain DNS record, not a Cloudflare-proxied one.
- API keyalso: API keys
- The secret a provider issues to bill and authenticate requests. Stored on the server that uses it, sent only to the provider, never shown to players.
- APKalso: APKs, sideload, sideloading, sideloaded
- The Android package file published on each release for people installing outside Google Play. Same build as the store; updates are installed by hand.
- App Linksalso: Android App Links
- Android's way of letting a verified app claim https links for its domain. Once the Play listing's signing certificate is registered, opendungeonmaster.com/j links open the app directly.
- AppImage
- A single-file Linux application that runs without installation. The app's AppImage carries a static runtime and updates itself in place.
- Ask the DM
- A private question to the narrator that does not enter the story, answered from the campaign's lore and your sheet, using the utility model where one exists.
- assistant linkalso: assistant links
- One lasting address a shared device world gives a cloud assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or Meta Muse) to save as a custom connector. It follows the world to every new share address through the project's relay.
- assisted mode
- A narrator setting where a human Dungeon Master hands specific jobs to the AI: the monsters' turns, a read-aloud of a written beat, or a counted stretch of answers while stepping away. Each is opt-in at the moment of use.
B
- backupalso: backups, backup archive, restore
- A verified archive of a self-hosted server's state (database, key, uploads, generated media, world packs, settings file) made from Admin, Backup or the backup script, restorable after a dry run. Contains secrets. A world hosted in the apps has no Backup section.
- base URLalso: backend URL
- The address of a text or image backend's API, usually ending in /v1, such as https://api.openai.com/v1 or http://127.0.0.1:8001/v1.
- battle mapalso: battle maps, the board
- The grid a fight plays on: painted from its terrain on each device, with walls, doors, lights, fog, tokens and effects on top.
- bestiary
- The monster catalogue: the content pack's monsters, a workshop's own, and homebrew, each with an editable stat block.
- binderalso: the binder
- The campaign's wiki: lore entries with secret blocks and audiences, handouts, quests, the timeline, the calendar and the relationship graph. Written by the Dungeon Master, read by the party as far as it is shown, and by the AI through recall.
- brokeralso: tunnel broker
- The small service that gives a shared world its play-CODE name and hands mesh voice its STUN and TURN details. It sees the name and the host's address while sharing, never the game.
- bundlealso: bundles, workshop bundle
- A single .odm-workshop.json file that carries a workshop's maps, monsters, NPCs, encounters, lore, tables, storyboards, homebrew, house rules and pregens, with pictures inside, for sharing between tables.
C
- campaign coveralso: cover art
- The picture on a campaign's home screen card and lobby: uploaded, or painted by the image backend from the premise.
- chapteralso: chapters
- A division of the campaign's story that closes when a story beat completes, not after a message count. Closing awards experience, extracts facts, writes a summary and takes a snapshot the lead can rewind to.
- chronicle
- The campaign's running record at the table: narration, what characters said and did, rolls, damage, conditions and chapter titles, in order.
- co-DMalso: co-DMs, assistant DM
- A second person who shares the Dungeon Master console beside the seat holder. Made and removed from the lobby's party list.
- ComfyUI
- The open image generation program the server can send picture requests to, on port 8188, with any SDXL-class checkpoint.
- connected agentalso: connected agents, MCP client
- A player's own MCP client acting as that player over the server's /api/mcp endpoint, with scopes the player ticks (read, play, characters, campaigns, dm) and a token shown once. Revocable; a password change disconnects it.
- content boundaries
- A campaign's register for what the Dungeon Master describes: family, standard or mature. Romance is gated behind the relationship meter and can be turned off.
- content packalso: content packs, Open5e pack, open5e.sqlite
- The read-only database of spells, feats, items, subclasses, lineages and monsters built from Open5e. Attached to every server release, baked into the Docker image, and carried by the apps. Without it the app falls back to the much smaller bundled SRD.
- Context tab
- A side panel tab, shown to whoever holds story authority, with exactly what the Dungeon Master was sent last turn, block by block, what each block cost against the model's context window (the tool definitions included), and anything the budget cut.
- context windowalso: 64K context, context size
- How many tokens a model can read at once. The Dungeon Master's prompt (arc, sheets, scene, recent story, summaries) is packed to it; a small window truncates the story and makes the model loop. 64K for a local model, 128K for OpenAI.
D
- day themealso: parchment theme, night theme
- The parchment light theme that follows the operating system by default and can be pinned in Account settings, beside the default arcane night theme.
- deep linkalso: deep links, odm link, odm://
- An odm:// link that the installers register with the operating system, so clicking an invite opens the app on the join screen.
- device settingsalso: Audio and dice, audio and dice settings
- The panel for everything that belongs to the device rather than the account: microphone and output devices and levels, open mic or push to talk, the 3D dice switch, dice sources and shake to roll. Opens from the voice dock, the table and the app's Settings.
- device worldalso: device worlds, app-hosted world, app-hosted worlds, phone-hosted world, local world
- The world the desktop or Android app hosts on its own bundled server. Its owner names an adventurer instead of registering; guests join with a name and a room code.
- dice lookalso: your own dice, dice editor, Customise my dice
- The colours, pattern and finish of your virtual dice, edited with a live 3D tray, with nineteen presets to start from, saved on your account for every table and device.
- dice policy
- The campaign setting that decides which dice sources players may use: digital only (the default) or policies that allow typed physical entry and Pixels dice per shape.
- dice sourcealso: dice sources, typed physical entry, typed entry
- Per die shape, where a player's roll comes from: the app, a physical die whose result they type, or a paired Pixels Bluetooth die. Saved per device.
- Discord sign-inalso: Discord OAuth, Sign in with Discord
- Optional sign-in through a Discord application whose redirect URI is the server's /api/auth/discord/callback. A Discord-only account can set a password later for the apps.
- disputed rulingalso: Dispute this ruling
- A player's challenge to a narrated ruling at an AI-narrated table. Whoever steers the story upholds it, overrules it, or puts it to a vote of the players, and the outcome is written into the chronicle.
- Do, Say, OOC and Directalso: Do mode, Say mode, OOC, Direct mode, out of character
- The four message modes at the table. Do is an action, Say is words in character, OOC is out-of-character talk the Dungeon Master ignores, and Direct is an instruction to the Dungeon Master from the party lead.
- Dockeralso: Docker Compose
- The container runtime and its compose file that run the server with its content pack, sound library and embedding model baked in. One container, six volumes, updated with docker compose pull.
- Docker volumealso: named volumes
- Docker's persistent storage. The server uses six: data, uploads, generated pictures, generated audio, the built-in speech model, and an agent program's sign-in. docker compose down keeps them; down -v destroys them.
- Dungeon Master seatalso: DM seat
- The campaign role a person takes to run the table themselves. The seat holder plays no character, sees enemy numbers and the unfogged map, and narrates through the console.
E
- encounteralso: encounters, prepared encounter
- A fight built in advance from monsters and placements, with live difficulty against the party, hidden enemies, overrides, rewards and a private note, deployed from the console or when the Dungeon Master calls it.
- encryption keyalso: database key, DB_ENCRYPTION_KEY, db key
- The secret the database is encrypted with at rest. Generated by Docker and the apps, or by you for a source install. There is no recovery without it; backups include it.
- enemy intent
- A card beside a foe showing what it is likely to do next, or what a human Dungeon Master has declared. A campaign setting turns it off.
- environment variablealso: environment variables, env var, env vars, .env.server
- A setting given to the server by its environment, from the process or the .env.server file (or .env beside the compose file under Docker). Overridden by the admin panel and by campaign settings.
F
- factionalso: factions
- A group in the world with standing, goals and power. An NPC's social DC follows the party's standing with their faction, and the chapter tick moves faction power.
- faster-whisperalso: whisper
- The open speech-to-text server the app uses for push-to-talk, dictation and transcription, run beside the server on port 8870. The built-in Whisper, installed from the admin panel, can stand in for it.
- Flatpak
- A sandboxed Linux package format. The app's Flatpak build plays, hosts and shares, but its sandbox cannot start a local model or an agent program.
- FLUX workeralso: MFLUX, SDNQ, ultra-fast-image-gen
- An image worker wrapping the FLUX.2-klein models for fast local pictures, on port 7869: MFLUX on a Mac, SDNQ elsewhere.
- fog of waralso: fog
- The part of a battle map a character has not seen, computed per character from the light model. The Dungeon Master sees the map unfogged.
G
- guided setup
- The administrator's walk through a server's settings one question at a time: the storyteller, pictures and voice, players, and your own agent, each found on the machine where it can be and tested before moving on. Opens after the first account and can be run again from the admin panel.
- guided touralso: guided tours, spotlight tour
- A spotlight walkthrough that runs once on the first visit to the title screen, the table (one for players, one for the DM seat), the workshop shelf, a workshop's hub and each tool, replayable from Help.
H
- handoutalso: handouts
- A lore entry with a picture, pushed to the table with Show this now and dressed as a parchment scroll or a posted notice.
- homebrew
- Items, spells, feats, backgrounds, species and subclasses a user makes in the workshop's Homebrew tool or a ruleset. Merged into every picker with a flag and read by the same engines as official content.
- host codealso: host codes
- The first half of a shared room code. It names the device hosting the world and is also the tunnel's address, play-HOSTCODE.opendungeonmaster.com, so a friend's app can find the host with nothing else to look up.
- hotkeysalso: hotkey, keyboard shortcuts
- Keyboard shortcuts in the map editors and the workshop's command palette, desktop only. A hotkeys overlay lists them; on a phone every tool is a tap.
- HTTPSalso: secure context, TLS
- Encrypted web traffic. Browsers grant the microphone, Bluetooth and app installation only on HTTPS or localhost. The desktop and Android apps count as secure on their own.
- human DM modealso: human-DM mode, human DM, human Dungeon Master
- A campaign narrated by a person instead of the AI. Player actions queue for the DM, the app keeps sheets, dice, initiative and maps, and the AI stays silent unless asked through assisted mode.
I
- image backendalso: image backends, image provider
- The service that paints portraits, scene art, location pictures and covers: an OpenAI key, ComfyUI, the FLUX worker, or an agent's own image tool. Battle maps never need one.
- initiativealso: initiative rail, initiative order
- The turn order in a fight, rolled for everyone when the fight starts and shown as a rail of portraits. Lair actions fire on initiative 20.
- interface scale
- One slider in Account settings that scales the whole interface, for a television or a small laptop.
- interstitialalso: the /j page, invite page
- The confirmation page an opendungeonmaster.com/j invite link opens: it names the destination server and asks the person to confirm, then opens the app or the host's pages. Deliberately not a blind redirect.
K
- Kokoroalso: Kokoro-FastAPI
- The open text-to-speech server the app uses for narration by default, run beside the server on port 8880. Any OpenAI-compatible speech server can take its place.
L
- Lead tab
- The party lead's tab in the table's side panel, shown only to the lead: the floor, notes waiting for approval, invites, the story tools, resending a halted turn, focus pings and the lead seat.
- lines and veils
- Safety settings the story authority writes: lines never happen in this story, veils happen off screen in a sentence. Written into every prompt and shown on the DM console.
- llama.cppalso: llama-server
- The open inference engine that serves GGUF models on your own GPU. The server's default backend on port 8001, and the engine the desktop app's guided local install uses.
- LM Studio
- A desktop app for running local models with an OpenAI-compatible server. Works as a Custom backend when the loaded model has a tool-capable template.
- lorealso: lore entry, lore entries
- A written entry in the binder about a place, person, faction or event, party-visible or DM-only, with wiki links, tags, secret blocks and optional PDF pages that feed recall.
- low effectsalso: reduced motion
- Switches that tone the interface down: reduced motion (from the operating system) stills every animation and skips painted effects; low effects (in Account settings) rests the loops and skips effect sheets.
M
- Map Forgealso: Map Editor, map editor
- The hand tools for battle maps: a tool rail, layers, a tileset panel and an inspector, with fifteen tools for terrain, walls, doors, lights, labels, notes, props, fog and the map's skin.
- map studio
- The tool that turns a described place into a battle map, showing the words it recognised and rolling terrain from them. The AI Dungeon Master uses it when a fight starts.
- map token
- A character or creature on the battle map, wearing its portrait or a painted plate, with health in words and condition glyphs.
- MCPalso: Model Context Protocol
- The Model Context Protocol, a standard way for an AI program to be handed tools. The server serves the Dungeon Master's tools over it to agent programs, and a player's tools to connected agents.
- media portalso: voice port, 44444, VOICE_RTC_PORT
- The one port, UDP and TCP, default 44444, that the built-in media server needs open straight to the host for voice audio. One port however many tables run; cannot be proxied.
- media serveralso: SFU, mediasoup
- The voice transport built into the server that receives every microphone and forwards to every listener. Needs one open port for UDP and TCP and enforces floor rules, proximity and side rooms.
- mesh voicealso: mesh, mesh transport
- The voice transport where browsers connect to each other and the server only referees. No port to open and works through a tunnel; used by app-hosted worlds. No floor enforcement, speaking indicator or side rooms.
- mid-game join
- A campaign setting that keeps the room code admitting new players after play has started.
N
- narrationalso: read-aloud, read aloud, TTS, text to speech
- The Dungeon Master's passages read aloud by a speech server (Kokoro or any OpenAI-compatible one) in the campaign's narrator voice, with quoted lines in the speaker's own voice, starting as the passage renders, with per-listener mute, volume and replay.
- native screensalso: app's own screens, own screens, natively
- The apps drawing a host's pages themselves and calling only its data routes, which they do for any server 0.21.0 or newer. Controls are the app's own on every host.
O
- Ollama
- A local model runner with its own model library and an OpenAI-compatible endpoint on port 11434. The repository ships a Modelfile with the Dungeon Master's settings.
- Open5e
- The open project that publishes 5e rules content under open licences. The content pack is built from its API.
- OpenAI-compatiblealso: OpenAI compatible, chat completions
- Any server that speaks the OpenAI chat completions API. Set with a base URL, a model name and usually a key. Must support tool calling to work as the Dungeon Master.
- OpenRouter
- A service with one key and one endpoint in front of many model providers. The way to run a Claude or Gemini model as the Dungeon Master.
P
- painted battle mapsalso: painted maps, map skin
- Battle map terrain drawn as stone, water, rubble, walls and props in a skin chosen from the campaign's setting and the map's theme. A device setting switches it off in favour of the plain drawn board.
- party leadalso: party leads
- The player who steers an AI table: settings, the story tools, pacing, invites and the Dungeon Master seat. The campaign's creator by default; at a human-DM table story authority moves to the DM seat.
- Pixels dicealso: Pixels die, Pixels, Bluetooth dice, Bluetooth die
- Physical dice with Bluetooth that report their own face. Paired per die shape through the browser's Web Bluetooth, the desktop app's chooser, or the Android app's relay to the phone's Bluetooth.
- Play as
- The choice, on a character's card in the Party tab, of which of your characters you act as when you field several. In a fight the character whose turn it is acts, and the Hand and the board follow it.
- portal mode
- How the apps show a server from 0.16.0 to 0.20.x: the app's bundled server serves the screens and forwards only data calls to the host. Switched in the app's Settings under Visiting hosts. Older hosts open their own pages in a web view.
- pregenalso: pregens, pregenerated character
- A ready-made character filed under a workshop's Party tool for players to pick, checked by the character builder's own rules when it travels in a bundle.
- presence penaltyalso: presence_penalty
- A sampling setting that discourages repeating tokens. Under the long Dungeon Master prompt it suppresses tool calls, so the app pins it to 0 and no profile exposes it.
- public URLalso: Public URL, APP_PUBLIC_URL
- The address players use to reach a server, set in the admin panel or APP_PUBLIC_URL. Share links, QR codes and the Discord redirect are built from it when a proxy or tunnel sits in front.
- push-to-talkalso: push to talk, speech to text, STT, transcription
- Recording a short clip with the microphone button beside the message box, transcribing it on the server's speech-to-text service, and confirming the text before it is sent. Separate from voice chat.
Q
- quantisationalso: Q8, Q4, Q6, Q3, Q2, GGUF
- Compressing a model's weights to fewer bits so it fits in less memory. Q8 is near-lossless and largest; Q4 halves it with a small quality cost. GGUF is the file format llama.cpp reads.
- Quick start
- A one-evening adventure with four ready-made heroes, from the home menu to a seated table in two clicks. Offered when the server has an AI storyteller and lets you start campaigns.
R
- reasoning budget
- A cap on how many tokens a model may spend thinking per call, set on the model server. Uncapped, a hard turn can spiral for minutes; 1024 to 2048 is the working range.
- recallalso: embedding model, embeddings
- The server's search over lore, PDF pages, past chapters and extracted facts, using a small local embedding model, so the Dungeon Master finds the right entry from a name or a phrase.
- recapalso: recaps, recap card
- The summary shown when a campaign is reopened. At a human-DM table there are two: the party's card and a DM-only whisper.
- region mapalso: region maps, overworld map
- The wider world between fights: a hex or tile map with places, roads, rivers, borders, labels and pins, rolled, painted by hand, or imported.
- registryalso: world registry
- The public index of community world packs and prepared worlds the admin panel browses and installs from. Another registry, or none, is a server setting.
- relationship meteralso: relationship graph
- The tracked standing between the party and each NPC or faction, drawn as a graph in the binder, feeding social DCs, romance gates and story beats.
- reverse proxyalso: Caddy, nginx
- A web server such as Caddy or nginx in front of the app that terminates HTTPS and forwards to port 3005. Needed for the microphone in browsers outside localhost. The voice media port is never proxied.
- roll cardalso: roll cards
- How a roll lands in the chronicle: the dice, the modifiers and the result, with a landing animation and 3D dice if they are on.
- roll tablealso: roll tables
- A weighted table the Dungeon Master rolls on for loot, rumours, encounters or names. Rows can point at another table, a monster, an item or an NPC, nested four deep, with draw without replacement.
- roll visibilityalso: blind roll, DM-only roll, self roll
- A human Dungeon Master's choice per roll: public, DM-only, blind (the player rolls, only the DM sees) or self. A hidden roll is redacted rather than absent.
- room codealso: room codes, table code, campaign code
- The short code that admits a player to a campaign: four to twelve letters and digits with no 0, O, 1 or I. While an app-hosted world is shared it reads as two halves, the host's code and the table's, like ABCD2345-EFGH6789.
- rulebook
- The whole SRD 5.1 as a searchable book shipped with the server, bound as the Players', the Dungeon Master's and the Monsters' books: at /rulebook, in the home menu, and behind the book button at the table.
- rulesetalso: rulesets, house rules
- A named set of house rules and the homebrew it ships, made in the workshop's Rules tool and applied to a campaign.
S
- settlement generator
- A seeded generator that invents a town's people, shops, rumours and a hook from the console, the places list, or when the party arrives somewhere unwritten.
- setup codealso: setup codes
- The one-time code that creating a fresh server's first (administrator) account requires. The server prints it in its log at every start until that account exists, with a link that fills it in. The apps claim their own worlds with one nobody has to type.
- Setup tab
- The last tab of the table's side panel: the campaign's settings, editable during play by whoever holds story authority. World, setting, table language, length, dice policy, hit points and wealth, narration and voices, faces, ambience, enemy intent, safety, and the Story AI and picture settings.
- shake to rollalso: hold rolls, holding rolls, Roll now
- A per-device switch on phones and tablets that holds your rolls at the table until you shake the device or tap Roll now. The server still draws every number.
- sign-up modealso: sign-ups, signup mode, invite-only, invite only
- A server setting for who may register: open, invite-only (an account invite code or a live room code), or closed. The first account bypasses it.
- single-process rulealso: one instance, one container
- The server is one synchronous SQLite writer with an in-process event bus, turn queue and media server. Run exactly one copy; never share a data folder between two.
- solo adventure
- A one-player campaign started from the home screen that skips the lobby: one character, the AI narrating, the same engines. Offered when the server has an AI storyteller.
- sound library
- The open-licensed recordings behind the ambience cues, each credited on the licences page. It ships with the server; the desktop and Android apps download it once (76 MB) from the Sound panel or the admin panel.
- Sound panel
- The table's control for ambience and music: what is playing, the Room and Music rows with several takes per cue, Next, a level per layer, and pickers for whoever steers the story.
- SRDalso: SRD 5.1, System Reference Document
- The System Reference Document: the freely licensed core of the 5e rules (CC-BY-4.0) that the app's engines and bundled data are built on.
- steering seatalso: steerer, AI narrates, I steer
- A narrator setting where the AI narrates every turn while a person sits behind the screen with the arc, the console and the last word on a disputed ruling, playing no character.
- story arcalso: secret arc, the arc, secret story arc
- The hidden plan an AI campaign follows: premise, antagonist, beats and twists, refreshed with a small clamped change as chapters close. The party lead can read and edit it; players cannot.
- story authority
- Whoever may change a campaign's settings, rules, lore and story: the party lead at an AI table, the human Dungeon Master at a human one.
- story beatalso: story beats
- A unit of story progress: a scene resolved, a discovery made, a turn taken in the plot. Chapters close on beats; a human Dungeon Master jots them as they happen.
- storyboardalso: storyboards
- The workshop tool for planning an arc as acts and beats. Imported into an AI campaign it becomes the plan the Dungeon Master follows.
- STUN and TURNalso: STUN, TURN, TURN relay, ICE
- The helpers a mesh voice call uses to connect across networks: STUN discovers each side's public address, and TURN relays the audio when a direct path is impossible. Provided by the project's broker by default.
T
- table language
- The campaign setting for the language the Dungeon Master writes the story in, one of fifteen. The server reads story and player text the same way in each; picture prompts still reach the image model in English.
- table viewalso: second screen, second-screen
- A chrome-free view of a campaign, at /campaigns/id/table on the server or in the desktop app's second-screen window, showing the board, scene art, sky and title cards for a television at an in-person table.
- text backendalso: text backends, text model, text provider
- The service that narrates: an OpenAI-compatible endpoint (OpenAI, OpenRouter, llama.cpp, LM Studio, vLLM), Ollama, an agent program, or none for a human Dungeon Master.
- the castalso: NPC, NPCs, NPC forge
- The campaign's non-player characters, made in the workshop's Cast tool or the console's NPC forge, with role, portrait, voice, location and relationships. The Dungeon Master can speak as any of them.
- the Hand
- On your turn in combat, your options as a fan of cards drawn from your sheet: weapons, prepared spells, class features and basic actions, each with its numbers. Pick a card, pick a target, read the preview, commit. On a phone it is a rail under the message box.
- thinking modealso: reasoning mode
- A model reasoning before it answers. The app requests it on tool-decision calls and not on the streaming narration call. Without it a local model calls tools about one turn in five.
- title cardalso: title cards
- A full-width card announcing a chapter, a fight, a rest, a crossed calendar event or a quest completed.
- tool callingalso: function calling, tool call, tool calls
- A model's ability to answer with a structured call to a named function instead of prose. The Dungeon Master uses it for every roll, hit point change and encounter, so a model without it narrates fights it never starts.
- tunnelalso: tunnels, cloudflared, tunnel helper
- The outbound connection the app opens to publish a device world at a play-CODE address. Made with the cloudflared helper, which the app downloads on first use. Carries only game traffic.
- turn HUD
- The small display on your turn showing your action, bonus action, reaction and movement, counted from the engine's own budget.
U
- Universal VTTalso: UVTT, dd2vtt
- A map file format many map makers export. The app reads its walls, doors and lights as mechanics and the picture as a backdrop.
- utility modelalso: bookkeeping model
- A second, cheaper model for chapter summaries, compaction, lore checks and Ask the DM, so the story model is spent on narration. Optional; blank sends everything to the story model.
V
- vLLM
- A high-throughput inference server for local models with an OpenAI-compatible API. Works as a Custom backend with automatic tool choice enabled.
- voice dockalso: Voice dock, voice panel
- The control in the table header for joining voice chat, muting, and the voice, narration and ambience volumes.
W
- waypointalso: waypoints
- A checkpoint on the way to a story beat that the server ticks from play, so the story advances at the table's pace.
- web viewalso: webview, WebView
- The embedded browser inside the app. Hosts too old for the app's own screens open their own pages in it. On Android its version is what the system WebView provides.
- workshopalso: workshops
- A campaign that never plays: the same content editors for maps, monsters, NPCs, encounters, lore, tables, storyboards, homebrew and rules, measured against a stand-in party, whose prep is imported into real campaigns.
- world packalso: world packs, campaign plugin, campaign plugins
- A JSON manifest that renames races, classes, backgrounds, spells, items and monsters to fit a universe, with lore, factions, places and optional art. A pure name mapping: sheets keep the canonical names underneath.
- WorldForge
- The workshop's world-building tool: one document over the records the table plays, with a wiki, a web of links, a timeline, an atlas and secrets with their keepers. Built in from Smoebo's WorldForge app.
X
- X-cardalso: X card
- A safety tool any player can tap at the table without explanation. The scene stops and the story authority continues past the moment, rewinds to the last chapter, or rerolls the narration.
